In this chapter, Sepp and the others of the 6th Panzer Army are subjected to terrible conditions in captivity. Many are tortured and even Sepp is abused.  They are sentenced to death, which is later reduced to life imprisonment. Otto and his brother Robert make an extensive world tour, collecting material for lectures and Zita makes up a list of bridal candidates for Otto. Ernst Hohenberg sues the Austrian government for the return of their patrimonial property and enables Sophie, Fritz, and family to live on the estate in peace and safety. In Berlin, the Soviets, wanting full control of the city, create a blockade against the Allies which results in mass starvation, leading to the aerial food drops by the British and Americans. Hilda and Gergy have a baby boy, András, and Otto meets Regina von Saxe-Meiningen in a refugee camp where they are both working. They are married in France, and Bekka and Kalli attend the wedding.

Malmedy and the United States Attitude to Justice and Torture 4_7- 2005 documentary "Über Galgen wächst kein Gras" with English subtitles. Its theme is mainly the Malmedy trial, which was part of the infamous "Dachau trials", taking place in the former Concentration Camp for manipulative reasons.  This story began as a piece of information from a World War II history enthusiast about a relationship between Joseph (Sepp) Dietrich and an Austrian girl who was co-opted into the BDM - Bund Deutsche Mädel - the Girls' Hitler Youth. Chapter Twelve Resistance June 1942 Hotel Metropole (Gestapo Headquarters)    In this chapter, the girls are sent to work at the headquarters of the Vienna Gestapo, the largest branch in the Greater Reich, and Bekka is emancipated, going to live with Hilda in a women's boarding house that serves government and SS employees. Hilda's boss in the Detective Branch is very personable, but Bekka's - the Commandant of the Headquarters - dislikes her on sight. Bekka is charged with programming the Lorenz machine, the encryption device used by the Reich high command, several categories of complexity above the Enigma, which was generally used.
